Child support · Wyoming
Wyoming child support calculator
Wyoming uses the income-shares model: both parents’ net monthly income is combined and applied to the W.S. 20-2-304 presumptive tables (base plus a marginal percentage), child care and health insurance are added, and the total is split in proportion to income. This calculator applies W.S. 20-2-304 and shows every step.
Calculate guideline support
Enter both parents’ net monthly income. Add work-related child care and the children’s health-insurance premium if any.

The presumptive-support tables
The heart of the calculation is the presumptive-support tables in W.S. 20-2-304 — for each number of children (one to five) a set of income brackets gives a base amount plus a marginal percentage of the combined net monthly income above the bracket floor. Above $15,000/month the top bracket keeps applying its marginal rate, so the tables never simply cap.
Wyo. Stat. § 20-2-304 (presumptive child support).
Child care, health insurance and the reserve
To the presumptive obligation Wyoming adds work-related child care and the children’s health-insurance premium, which are shared in proportion to income. The combined figure is the total obligation, split by income share. A self-support reserve tied to the federal poverty line protects low-income paying parents (W.S. 20-2-304(f)), and below $1,000/month the tables bottom out.
Wyo. Stat. § 20-2-304 (self-support reserve, additions).
Shared custody and deviations
When each parent keeps the children more than 25% of overnights, W.S. 20-2-304(c) multiplies the total obligation by 1.5 to reflect the duplicated cost of two households, then offsets each parent’s share by the time the children spend with the other, so the higher earner pays the difference. Because that needs the exact overnight split, this calculator computes the standard (primary-custody) obligation.
Wyo. Stat. § 20-2-304(c) (shared responsibility); 20-2-307 (deviations).

What this calculator does not do
It combines both parents’ income, applies the W.S. 20-2-304 tables, adds child care and health insurance, and splits the total by income share. It does not compute net income from your pay stubs, run the shared-custody 1.5× offset, apply the self-support reserve in detail, add extraordinary expenses, or apply a deviation the court may order. For a figure you can file, use the official Wyoming worksheet or consult an attorney.
Common questions
How is child support calculated in Wyoming?
Combine both parents’ net monthly income, apply the W.S. 20-2-304 table for the number of children (base plus a marginal percentage), add work-related child care and health insurance, and split the total in proportion to income. The noncustodial parent pays their share.
What are the Wyoming child support tables?
W.S. 20-2-304 — presumptive tables indexed by combined net monthly income and one to five children; each bracket gives a base amount plus a marginal percentage of income over the bracket floor.
Is there a self-support reserve?
Yes — W.S. 20-2-304(f) applies a self-support reserve tied to the federal poverty line so a low-income paying parent retains a minimum standard of living, which can reduce the presumptive order.
What about shared custody?
When each parent keeps the children more than 25% of overnights, W.S. 20-2-304(c) multiplies the total obligation by 1.5 and offsets each parent’s share by the other parent’s time.
Is child support taxable in Wyoming?
No — federally it’s not taxable to the recipient or deductible by the payer, the same in Wyoming as everywhere.
